Unusual use of computing clusters was found by a developer from the French IT company Qarnot. With their help, he prepared dinner .

The inventive specialist posted the photos on LinkedIn.

Qarnot OBx computing clusters were used for cooking. While the system was rendering 3D graphics, duck, beef and salmon in vacuum packaging were placed in a water tank that used heat generated by the servers to heat it. The temperature in the tank remained at 55 degrees.

As a result, the dishes were prepared using sous-vid technology, which involves cooking in a plastic bag on a steam bath at a relatively low temperature.

Qarnot says that with the help of the heat that servers emit, it is possible to heat both residential buildings and commercial premises.
