Xiaomi has elected a new president. The company was led by Lou Weibing, who previously presided over the Redmi brand. It is reported by GizmoChina.

Weibing will now be responsible for the company’s operations in China and India. This is a common frame rotation for Xiaomi, experts say. Qiu Gen and Ma Ji also gained new positions — both becoming vice presidents. Gen will lead the technology division and Ji will lead the online sales division.

The publication notes that Xiaomi announced personnel changes shortly after information about the wave of mass layoffs in the company appeared in the media. In some divisions, up to two-thirds of employees fell under the reduction.

Earlier, Xiaomi presented a robot drummer.
