The U.S. Department of Justice will file a lawsuit against Google over the search giant dominating the digital advertising market.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources secretly involved in the situation.
According to the agency, the lawsuit will be filed in federal court by the end of the week. It is the US Department of Justice and Google that refrain from commenting.
This is the second court case filed by the Department of Justice against a corporation that retains a leading position in the U.S. digital advertising market. It is under Google’s control that the vast majority of technologies used to implement online advertising are located.
In addition, three separate lawsuits have been filed against the company by state attorneys general. They say that the company is a monopolist in the field of online search, advertising technologies and applications for the Android OS.
In turn, Google itself has repeatedly argued about the competitiveness of the online advertising market.
Earlier it became known that the European Union and the United Kingdom are preparing lawsuits against Google. The total amount of claims is 25 billion euros. The basis for them is the accusation of unfair competition in the digital advertising market.
