Researchers from the University of Toronto presented the so-called “liquid glass” — a unique energy-saving technology. This is reported by the website of the university.
The so-called “smart glass”, which is able to protect the room from excess light and heat, already exists now. However, experts from Canada have managed to master a technology that can adjust a certain range for each light spectrum. For example, on a sunny day in winter, innovative glass can darken the room, while passing heat. And in spring and summer, glass does not allow heat to enter the room, but provides good lighting of the room.
The development of Canadian researchers can not only increase the comfort of the premises but also helps to save electricity up to 50%.
Earlier, a team of researchers from Japan presented unusual, almost invisible solar panels. They perfectly transmit light, and therefore they can be installed instead of the usual window panes.
