Architects from the American company Red House , together with specialists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), are working with NASA to develop technology for the construction of colonies on Mars. Algae and mushrooms will be used for this.

According to the new technology, it is proposed to use high stability building material for construction. It is made from a mixture of algae with mushroom mycelium. Experts note that its strength is higher than the corresponding characteristics of concrete. This material will be able to provide the best possible protection against cosmic radiation.

The mixture will be made on Earth and then shipped to Mars. Already in the city, carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen will be added to it. Oxygen, which is formed as a result of a chemical reaction, will stimulate the growth of fungi, which will become a frame for houses.
