Samsung plans to use recycled plastic in the production of all smartphones. That could happen by 2050, according to Yonhap.
The agency quotes a statement from Samsung Vice President Park Song Sun, where he notes that such a decision would have a positive impact on the environment, given the company’s “large product line”.
Currently, some details for Samsung smartphones have already used recycled plastic. We are talking about 12 similar components in the flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra, made of recycled fishing nets and bottles. Also, the box for the smartphone is made of recycled paper. Samsung plans to abandon plastic for smartphone packaging by 2025.
