Apple received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a smartwatch strap that can change color. Information about the company’s new invention appeared on the Apple Insider portal.

The patent description refers to a watch strap made of fabric. Thanks to the electrochromic coating, the fabric strap can change colors. The inventors have worked out several scenarios involving changing the color of the strap.

For example, at the request of the owner, it can be “adjusted” to the clothes or mood of the user. Also, the electrochromic accessory can respond to the replacement of the dial, receiving notifications, displaying any information or widget.

Whether this patent will be implemented is currently unknown.

Earlier, we reported that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has patented the company’s production of an iPhone that will have a waterfall screen.
