The requirement to ban the use of the social network TikTok was received by employees of the European Commission. We are talking about emails in which the guide demands that TikTok be removed from working smartphones. This also applies to personal gadgets if they have work mail, according to The Guardian.

For the sake of cybersecurity, employees of the European Commission were obliged to delete the social network TikTok and set a deadline of March 15.

The decision to ban TikTok has to do with a “strict internal cybersecurity policy”. Previously, employees were advised to “apply best practices when using social media platforms.” They were also advised to “maintain a high level of cybersecurity awareness in their daily work.”

However, the owner of TikTok, ByteDance, denies that there are any problems on the social network regarding cybersecurity and data storage. Its representative has already been sent to the EC to resolve the problem.

ByteDance also recently announced the creation of three new European data centers. This is done to ensure the local preservation of user information.

To recap, the House Foreign Affairs Committee decided to put to a vote in the lower house of the US Congress a draft to block TikTok in the United States.
