The Take It Down initiative was picked up by the social networks Facebook and Instagram. It’s about fighting the distribution of intimate content involving children, Meta reported .

Take It Down is an initiative of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Its task is to prevent the distribution of intimate materials with the participation of minors.

On the site, you can anonymously create a hash (digital imprint of the image). The actual image is not required. A hash is a code entered into a database. Take It Down partner companies will have to remove such images with no download in the future.

From platforms that do not cooperate with Take It Down, you will not be able to delete the image. In addition, it is not possible to recognize the image that has undergone changes. Cropping or editing the original photo changes the hash.

Currently, the Take It Down initiative has already been supported by Yubo, OnlyFans and Pornhub.

Earlier, the Advisory Council on Trust and Security was dissolved on Twitter. It included members of about a hundred independent public, human rights and other organizations.
