Meta is currently working on a new decentralized social network that could be an alternative to Twitter. It will run on the ActivityPub protocol and will be compatible with Mastodon.
Now the project is at an early stage. Its code name is P92. The application will have many useful features: links to preview posts, account verification, the ability to comment and send private messages, as well as post images and videos. It is not yet known whether it will be possible to repost.

The “highlight” of the application is that it is decentralized. Users will be able to create their own servers and determine content moderation rules on their own.
Recall that Meta has planned to release the first full-fledged augmented reality glasses for 2027.
