A statement banning the use of TikTok on the work phones of civil servants was released by French Civil Service Minister Stanislas Guerini on his Twitter account.

It talks about the government’s decision to ban entertainment apps like TikTok on professional phones of government officials. This is due to cybersecurity for administrations and civil servants.

According to Guerini, the ban takes effect immediately. Public services will monitor its compliance. An exception may be professional responsibilities such as institutional communications .

As a reminder, the ban on the use of the social network TikTok is gaining momentum. Following Canadian civil servants, a ban on the use of TikTok on all official devices was imposed on employees of the European Commission, the US Congress, the Ministry of Defense and the office of the Danish Prime Minister and to BBC employees .
