Taiwanese chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which is the absolute industry leader, is in talks to launch the first plant in Europe. It can be located in Dresden.

The emergence of the plant in Europe will be beneficial for TSMC, as it will bring significant profits due to the high demand for cars in the region. It is reported by Nikkei Asia.

TSMC is going to send a group of top managers to Germany early next year. They must agree on state support for the future plant. Negotiations will also be held on the capabilities of the local supply chain.

Construction of the plant may start as early as 2024.

Earlier, we reported that the American technology corporation Intel and Canadian investment company Brookfield Asset Management are planning to jointly invest up to $ 30 billion in chip manufacturing plants in the US state of Arizona.
