A study by Apple, the American Heart Association and Brigham and Womens hospitals suggests that nearly two-thirds of the Apple Watch owners surveyed spend less than 7 hours a night sleeping.

To collect information, researchers studied data from American users-owners of smart watches Apple Watch. Data collection lasted from February 1 to June 1, 2022. In a special Apple program, 2.9 million records were collected from Apple Watch owners.

According to the results of the study, it turned out that American owners of Apple Watch sleep an average of 6 hours 27 minutes daily. Sleep for more than 7 hours was recorded only in the case of 31.2% of users. The longest sleepers are residents of Washington, Idaho and South Dakota. Residents of Hawaii, Mississippi and West Virginia regularly lack sleep.

At the same time, the American Heart Association recommends sleeping up to 7-9 hours every day.
