Apple will allow you to install apps from other app stores, not just the App Store. This will happen already in the release of the new version of the “apple” OS iOS 17.

This was reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.

This is a forced step, to which the corporation was prompted by the requirements of EU legislation on digital markets (DMA). Under the new requirements, Apple and Google must allow users to install apps not only from their official stores, but also from other sources.

You can expect the presentation of Apple’s operating system update already during WWDC 2023, which is scheduled for June 5-9.

Recall, Apple has filed an application with the US Trademark and Patent Office for its new invention. We are talking about a facial recognition system for smart HomePod speakers.
