The Japanese company-manufacturer of video games and gaming systems Nintendo sued 467 thousand euros from the company Dstorage. The amount of almost half a million euros is compensation for the distribution of copies of pirated games on file hosting.

The decision on Nintendo copyright infringement and damages was ruled by the Paris Court of Appeal. It says that users uploaded and downloaded pirated copies of Nintendo games on the 1fichier file hosting, which is operated by Dstorage. The operator did not pay any attention to Nintendo’s outrage, and did not block access to pirated content.

Previously, Dstorage has repeatedly been involved in scandals. It is about ignoring the requests of copyright holders to remove pirated content in 2018 and 2020.

Currently, Dstorage has the right to appeal the court decision, but it is not known whether it will use it.

Recall, the Nintendo Switch handheld console received the game “Give Me Toilet Paper!”. To manage it you need a real roll of toilet paper.
