The Indian government has imposed a ban on the use of 14 mobile applications in the country. 13 of them are messengers that do not have representative offices in India, according to Ani News.

The ban was introduced on IMO, Threema, Crypviser and a number of other applications. According to a government official, tracking the actions of users in banned apps is quite difficult. They were used in Kashmir to “spread terrorism and propaganda.”

Indian startups and scientists under the patronage of the government are creating their own mobile operating system. According to expectations, the OS called IndOS will become competitive with Apple and Google.
