The recall of almost all electric vehicles sold in China from the American company Tesla is caused by a malfunction of the braking and acceleration systems. We are talking about more than 1.1 million. cars produced at a plant in Shanghai or imported into China from the beginning of 2019 to April 2023. It is reported by Bloomberg.

According to the State Administration for Market Supervision of the People’s Republic of China, from 2014 to March 2023, Tesla sold almost 1.13 million cars in the state. These are models Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y.

The regulator notes that electric vehicles have a defect in the energy recovery system. It is designed to charge the car’s battery during braking or slowing down. Its malfunction can lead to an unexpected slowdown of the electric vehicle and cause an accident. There is also a problem with the gas pedal due to the lack of notification of the driver about pressing it too long.

To avoid potential accidents, Tesla will solve the issue remotely by updating the software. The company also undertakes to replace or repair faulty parts free of charge.

Earlier we reported that in South Korea, Tesla was fined due to charges of violating advertising laws. The country’s authorities are confident that the company’s advertising deliberately misled buyers.
