The investigation against Apple was initiated by the French association Halte l’Obsolescence Program (HOP). The brand is accused of deliberately “aging” its devices, according to the Apple Insider portal.

According to HOP, Apple’s current device repair program limits the ability to repair and motivates to buy new smartphones. We are talking about the use during the repair of gadgets only certified parts that correspond only to this device (the technical service requires its serial number).

The Halte l’Obsolescence Program argues that this approach to repair requires it only from authorized parts suppliers and limits the repair of devices that use uncertified components. This makes it impossible to repair “apple” gadgets even with minor problems, which makes them outdated.

Recall, Apple is in a constant hunt for insiders who publish information about new gadgets and services of the company. To identify sources of information leakage, “the Cupertino-based company has some pretty cunning ways.”
