Google has announced a list of devices and updates. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones were the main novelties.

Both devices offer a range of generative AI features powered by the latest chip. Google says the Pixel 8’s largest machine learning model is 10 times more complex compared to the Pixel 6 two years ago.

The company has managed to expand its AI technology to more areas of the device beyond image processing. It is now possible to detect and filter out more spam calls or remove unwanted sounds from videos.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are also more likely to feature Google Assistant features with word processing from voice tasks.

The Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch Actua display, where there are crisp colors and vivid details. The screen also supports a higher refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should make web scrolling and gaming smoother. Cameras with better zoom and viewing angle have also been updated.

The 8 Pro’s display is larger at 6.7 inches. Google also promises “over 24 hours of battery life” on both phones. If Extreme Battery Saver mode is enabled, they can last up to 72 hours. Of course, there’s support for fast charging — about 50% in about 30 minutes.

The Pixel 8 Pro also includes a temperature sensor. This will help check if someone has a temperature or if another device is overheating.

Both devices have 128GB of storage in the base versions.

The Pixel 8 starts at $699. That’s $100 more than the Pixel 7. And the Pixel 8 Pro will start at $999.

Pixel Watch 2 now has a higher level of water permeability. The watch also has a lighter case made from 100% recycled aluminum, and the device is available in four colors.

The Watch 2 also has a perfect, according to the company, heart rate monitor. Together with AI, it can track sleep, notify about high and low heart rate. Stress management has also appeared thanks to the body reaction sensor and the skin temperature sensor. When the Pixel Watch 2 detects your body’s reaction to things like stress, illness, or exposure to caffeine or alcohol, the device suggests breathing exercises or a walk.

The Pixel Watch 2 should last 24 hours, even with the always-on display. After 75 minutes of charging, the charge will last all day.

The Pixel Watch 2 starts at $349.

The Pixel Buds Pro are available in two new colors — gray and porcelain.

They have a new mode that should reduce audio lag when you’re playing games on a compatible Pixel phone or tablet. Bluetooth Super Wideband support doubles the bandwidth for your voice with the goal of making your sound clearer and fuller, Google says.

The company has also enabled support for Clear Calling on the Pixel, so when you use the Pixel Buds Pro for calls, you should hear the other person more clearly.

In the Pixel Buds app, you’ll be able to see how loud you’ve been listening to music over a period of time. It will tell you when to turn down the volume to help you take care of your hearing health.

Recall that Alphabet Inc is considering the possibility of partially transferring the production of Pixel smartphones to India. This is caused by problems in the production process due to COVID-19 quarantine measures in China. Another reason is the growing tension between Beijing and the United States.
