The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine presented a demo version of the project for demining the territory of Ukraine, which is based on a data-oriented approach. It was presented at the First International Donors’ Conference on Humanitarian Demining of Ukraine

The American technology company Palantir, which specializes in big data analytics, will help to implement the plan.

“Thanks to artificial intelligence, we will analyze big data to make quality decisions, set priorities, understand exactly the needs and what resources need to be attracted in order to demine Ukrainian lands faster,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

According to her, the system will be able to analyze data on potentially mined areas, combine them with data from additional sources, for example, on social or critical infrastructure facilities, and form options for higher priority demining routes.

The introduction of the information system will allow to quickly analyze decisions and actions in the field of humanitarian demining, adjust them, improve approaches to clearing Ukrainian lands, improve and accelerate processes.
