TikTok is testing the ability to upload 15-minute videos. Previously, the platform allowed you to upload videos up to 10 minutes long.

Users can now upload longer videos from both the TikTok app and desktop. Thus, TikTok moves even further away from its concept with short videos.

Back in February 2022, the company increased the maximum video length from three minutes to 10. Before that, the limit was 60 seconds, at the very beginning of the platform’s operation it was 15.

With longer videos, users will be able to shoot content such as recipes, lessons, workshops, or comedy sketches more freely. Before that, they were forced to divide the longer video into several parts. However, with the new option, there will be no need for series.

This update makes TikTok an even bigger competitor to YouTube. However, the latter does not stand still, because even earlier he launched short vertical short videos Shorts.

TikTok has not yet announced when it will introduce longer videos for all users. As a reminder, videos on TikTok can be published directly from editing programs.
