Tesla CEO Elon Musk has warned that the production of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck will not become profitable until 2025. After all, it is difficult to scale up the production of such a vehicle and it takes time to achieve profitability.

Musk estimates that it will take about 18 months for the Cybertruck to make a profit. At some point in 2025, the company will produce “approximately” 250,000 Cybertrucks per year, Musk predicted.

Pilot production of the Cybertruck has started at the company’s Giga Texas plant near Austin. On Wednesday, Musk said the first Cybertrucks would be delivered at the plant on November 30.

“When you have a product with a lot of new technology or any brand new vehicle app, especially one as diverse and advanced as the Cybertruck, you’re going to have problems,” Musk says.
