Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that the app now allows all users around the world to download Reels to devices. Prior to this, Reels could only be viewed on Instagram.

Mosseri noted that the downloaded Reels will have an Instagram watermark with the account name, similar to how videos from TikTok are downloaded.

You can disable the feature of uploading your videos in the Settings menu > Privacy > Allow People to Download Your Videos.

Note that if you save Reels with a licensed track, the downloaded video will have no sound. Only videos with original audio tracks will have audio when downloaded.
