On the OpenAI website, information appeared that the training dataset for GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo language models has been updated until December 2023. In fact, OpenAI’s AI tools are currently out of date only with the events that happened in 2024. The developers note that since the release of GPT-4 Turbo, more than 70% of requests from GPT-4 users have switched to it. OpenAI promises to bring GPT-4 Turbo to the public in the coming months. Also, the latest GPT-4 model is designed to reduce cases of “laziness” – when the chatbot does not complete a task.

Older versions of GPT-4 are still limited in knowledge until April 2023, and the free GPT-3.5 Turbo only has information until September 2021. At one time, Sam Altman was very angry about this, saying at the first OpenAI developer conference that he was “annoyed that GPT-4’s knowledge of the world ended in 2021.” He even promised not to allow such obsolescence anymore, and it seems that he kept his word, you just have to pay for new GPT-4 models armed with up-to-date data.
