The mayor of Bucha, Anatoliy Fedoruk, said that a hospital will be built in the city on the basis of the Mental Health Center, where 3D printers for printing prostheses for Ukrainian soldiers will be placed. The first structures will begin to be installed in the fall, and construction should be completed by the end of 2024.

The new hospital will have a separate department for the physical rehabilitation of defenders, with expanded clinical research capabilities. The experience of creating a rehabilitation department is adopted from US hospitals, in particular, from a medical institution in Bensalem (Pennsylvania), which specializes in orthopedics. Prostheses printed on 3D printers will meet all clinical standards for such products, and will serve no less than conventional ones. The Bucha hospital will be provided with printers by the public organization “Ukraine Focus”, and with the assistance of the American medical corporation Northwell Health, there will also be a training center for medical staff.

According to the agreement concluded with the United States, four such hospitals are to be built in Ukraine. The locations of three more are currently unknown – this will be determined by the Ministry of Health.
