Canada occupies the northern part of North America and almost half the area of the continent, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west.
This is the second largest country in the world with an area of almost 10 million km². Canada borders the United States and has maritime borders with France (the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon) and Greenland (Denmark).
