Firefox or Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source browser based on the Gecko kernel (Mozilla’s native project).
The project was created in 2004, when there were only two major browsers on the market: Internet Explorer and Netscape. In the first 100 days, the program was downloaded 25 million times, making Firefox one of the most popular open source applications.
In 2005, the program was downloaded 100 millionth times. In Ukraine, Firefox ranks second most popular after Google Chrome.
In June 2009, Firefox downloaded crossed the 1 billion threshold.
