# telescope

A telescope is a device for observing distant objects. It was first designed in 1608 by three inventors— Hans Lippersgey, Zachary Jansen and Jacob Matthews.

The telescope was greatly improved by Galileo Galilei in 1609. The telescope is also called astronomical instruments for observing electromagnetic waves invisible to the human eye, these are infrared, ultraviolet, X-ray, gamma and radio telescopes.

There are also neutrino and gravitational telescopes to record other than electromagnetic radiation.
